Had to do the same thing. I am in XP and all my users are 97. Install the Access runtime on all pc's for which ever version you want (97 or XP). Then on desktop icon make shortcut mapping to the runtime first, then to the actual application. Hope this helps!
I have a click event on an unbound form that checks to see if users are logged into database, if NOT, then a compact and repair event runs. This take a few minutes (3-5) and I have tried to run a progress meter and then just a simple lable with dots that repaints every few seconds. I also...

I split it for several reasons. After it proves stable, I will be building another front end app. SO, I will have two separate apps that use some of the tables from each of the databases. Because both apps need to share certain data, I thought splitting the data up was the best place to...

I split a single back-end database with lots of one-to-many relationships into three separate databases and maintained the appropriate relationships in each new and separate database. I have a client front-end that is installed on 10 computers and "LINKS" all the relationships from...
Is Access 97 a good match for a front end app using SQL 7 as database server? (the tools I have). I am currently using a split app using Access for front(on client pcs) and back (data only). I need to migrate and am wondering if SQL 7 will be a good upscale option. Will ODBC be the method of...
