    Oracle-SAP-Solaris Problem

I had a problem last night that may or may not be associated with backups, but it's odd. I'd like to know if anyone has seen this before. Server: Sun 6500 Solaris 8 Networker 6.1.2 JB is an STK L700 w/9840 drives in a tape SAN using DDS Client: SUN 6800 Solaris 8 Networker...

NSR DB (when is it to large and stops performing well)

I can tell you what I know about my index DB. I have 181 Clients with a total index size of 32GB. Remember the file index is not one big file per client like it was in 5.x. It's one file per saveset (acutally 3 - .rec, .k0, and .k1.). I haven't seen any noticable performance issues as its grown...

    A better e-mail notification

I've never liked the standard subject for savegroup completion e-mails. I have about 40 groups that send me e-mails everyday and I don't like the fact that you need to open the e-mail to see what group it's for and if it succeded or not. This is a simple perl script that I wrote that re-formats...

    mminfo mystery

No, It's not the location that's wrong. It's the INUSE flag. The tape is not in use, but Networker thinks it is.

    mminfo mystery

Not exactly, the -q is for tapes that are currently in use. i.e. being read or written to. This flag has been incorrectly written to the media db. I would like to know if anyone has seen the behavior on 6.1.2 and if there is a way to fix it. The reason this is of concern to me is because we...

    nsrnmo.bat doesn't work

The most common reason for this not working is the enviroment not being setup properly, or a TNS issue.

    mminfo mystery

Does anyone know how this could happen, and how to fix it? > mminfo -q inuse -r barcode, pool, location barcode pool location 000448 32 Day Offsite I'm thinking that we have one GREAT jukebox that it can write to tapes that aren't even in the building!

    nsrck Runs every night

Thankyou, That worked. The nsrck now runs at a more reasonable time. BTW I'm running 6.1.2 on Solaris. I'm having another problem as well. When the nsrck runs, it kills the machine. I see out of 4822 processes 4582 are zombies with all 10 CPUs maxed out. I'm also seeing an extreamly high amount...

    nsrck Runs every night

nsrck runs every night at 22:00 on all clients. I know this is normal, but it takes about an hour and my backups stop while it's doing this. It there a way to change the time this runs?
