    ADSL speeds

    Now this is not of any big importance but i am a bit puzzled about the theoretical and practical speed limits of ADSL. So far i have heard 8mbit download 2 mbit upload, 8mbit download 1 mbit upload and a bunch of other. But which one is it? Or does it depend on what hardware is used?
