Cannot Add Route when ID is a lowly user

My issue: XP will not add folks in the 'users' group to add a route via the command line 'Route Add x.x.x.x...' command. As an admin, I refuse to escalate the users privliges just to allow for the route. But they need the route. Anyone know if there is a registry key or something to allow...

    PIX Routing (or lack thereof)

As an FYI for all, I found this example that explains things pretty well.. ------------- if you have a PIX with two interfaces (inside and outside) and on the inside interface there is a 10.1.1.0/24 network. Off this network there is a router with the 10.1.2.0/24 network connected to it. Then...

    PIX Routing (or lack thereof)

Are you serious?! A cisco device that can't handle some simple routing?! <grumble grumble grumble> Time to buy Nokia/CP... What the heck is the ROUTE command even in the pix for then?!

    PIX Routing (or lack thereof)

For some odd reason, my PIX refused to route traffic to internal subnets. For example, my local network is 10.10.10.x and a user needs to access an internal website at 10.20.20.x (over the WAN). Below are snips from my PIX config. access-list 90 permit ip 10.10.10.0 255.255.255.0 10.0.0.0...

    Multi Domain Issue

Figured it out (I'm a newbie). In server admin I assigned the new e-mail address to the folder, set it as primary and restarted the mail routing service. An FYI for anyone else...

    Multi Domain Issue

Here is the issue: I have domain xyz.com for our company, but they also want to recieve email for 123.com. Now, I already setup the exchange 2000 server to accept e-mail for the 123.com domain, but I have one issue: Can I have e-mails for 123.com dropped in a public folder like some xyz.com...

Where does XP store Windows Upates?

Hmmm.. It looks like I need to understand HOW Windows Update works. Thanks for the advice!

Where does XP store Windows Upates?

The updates have not been installed yet, so no Uninstall directories yet. The updates have been downloaded and XP prompts me that they are ready to install... what if I want to install them manually later, on another machine, or after a fresh install?

Where does XP store Windows Upates?

I'd like to archive the patches that get automatically pulled down from Windows Update. I have XP Pro and would like to find the directory that the updates are stored in. WUtemp doesn't exist, and I know the updates are downloaded ready to install. Is this a wacky idea?! I'd really like to...

    Solaris 9 x86 & Connectix Virtual PC

Never mind, I found a bit of info... this is good info... "VTOC" is a disk volume table of contents. That is, it describes Solaris disk slices and, for Solaris Intel, resides at the start of the Solaris fdisk partition. The VTOC contains information on Solaris slices within the...

    Solaris 9 x86 & Connectix Virtual PC

Has anyone installed Solaris 9 on a virutal PC? I'm trying to install v9 x86 with VPC version 5.1 and in the first steps of the install it will NOT mount the hard drive. Is there something I need to be aware of? I've tried an unformated Virtual HD and a FAT16 formated HD. Neither worked...

    checking open ports

Are you talking about what ports are open through the firewall? You can run any port scan utility, or just look at your rulebase to see what you allow. The firewall may respond to other ports, depending on the options you selected in the global policy properties.

    New Solaris Install Question...

I'm faced with installing Solaris 8 on a Sunfire V880. I need to perform a generic install and have questions: The web-start (command line, no gui here!) is not able to do an auto-layout (for whatever reason). So, I'm not sure how to layout the file systems. The only software to be installed...
