Reduce priv1.stm size for OWA users

Thanks for your response. Can the .stm file be reduced in size? I have a situation where there is very little disk space left. My users regularly delete attachments and after the overnight online defrags I have a comfortable about of free space in the .edb file as seen from Event ID 1221. But...

Reduce priv1.stm size for OWA users

I (think I) understand that if non-MAPI clients, like Outlook Web Access, are used exclusivly, that users emails will stay in the priv1.stm file. Would getting them to open Outlook from time to time move some content from the priv1.stm to priv1.edb files? Or does this only happen if they...

Any words of wisdom? -- First Exchange Disaster recovery in 12hrs

I believe so. I have not been involved in the attempt to repair the original Server yet. He spent about 5 hours trying a lot of different drivers. The plan tomorrow is for him to carry on with the attempts to repair the Server, whilst I try a restore to another server. He did a parallel...

UserManager for Domains broken - Network path not found

Solved it! Turned out I had been over zealous in my security precautions and had unbound WINS Client(TCP/IP) from the adapter. Bringing this back in and rebooting solved it.

UserManager for Domains broken - Network path not found

Thanks for your help. I have seen this article. The server in question is a very little used Internet Server. It has been in use for a while and so I think the best solution for me is to retire it. But thanks alot for your help

    Back - up

I am sure I read somewhere that WIN2000 SP1 introduced a bug the stopped the NTBackup scheduler working, and that there is a Hotfix for it, but I have searched and searched and not found the reference to it. I have never got the WIN2000 NTBackup scheduler to work and it is *very* irritating!
