Thanks for the suggestion - but I tried this first off, with the same thought. Unfortunately, I need the port forwarding to send the magic packet to the broadcast address i.e. packet comes in from router 1, sent to ip address of router 2, router 2 then relays that to broadcast address...
Apologies in advance for the length of the following. I have perhaps a rather strange setup which involves two routers and a wireless network. The situation is this: I have a combined ADSL modem and wireless router unit for internet connection. This is also the DHCP server and firewall...
In reference to thread thread751-1089279 I had a while back, I finally discovered that the problem was caused by a SCSI PCI card that I had installed. As soon as this was removed, all worked as it should. Now, is there any reason why an integrated Promise SATA cannot co-exist with a PCI SCSI...
Hi, I have the exact same thing happening with Windows 2000, only there is no corruption that I know of. My system is the other way round, with the OS on the IDE drive and a new blank SATA drive that I'm trying to connect. The SATA controller is integrated on the MB, and is enabled through the...
I have an AOpen AK79D-400Max MB with Athlon XP 2800+, 1024Gb memory, and the mb has an integrated SATA controller (Promise 150 SATA chip) which is enabled through the BIOS. The PC has Windows 2000 and Linux installed as dual boot, and I use Grub as the boot loader. My problem is this:
When I...

Hi Kemo,
No, no solutions as yet - I've tried the route bcastner was suggesting before and still haven't been able to clear it like you. I've a nasty feeling it's going to end up a complete wipe and reinstall :-(
Hi,
I want to place a database application on a network drive which is accessible to people who all have Access installed on their machines, but perhaps in varying locations, and I want the database to be only opened using a workgroup file located in the same network folder. I know that you can...
I've been to Dell's site & forum - it's pretty useless to be honest, and I believe they use a standard implementation of PocketPC anyway. Thanks for the help.
Hi,
The issue of retries is what I've surmised from reading various bits on the 'net about the way MS have implemented the password program. My PDA did the same thing to me last week, but it appeared to clear and let me in again after about 48 hours. This time, it's been about double that so...
Hi,
I understand that MS has implemented an exponential delay between retry intervals for incorrect passwords entered in the default password protection system for Pocket PC. My own PDA (Dell Axim X5) has locked me out, and I can only think that this is because the thing has been switched on...
Hi,
I've been experiencing this problem for quite a while now and I'm at quite a loss as to how to find a cure. Basically, at apparently random occassions, when using explorer to do some file operation, it freezes, and as a result the desktop and taskbar become frozen too [sad]. I go into task...
If you're using windows XP, try using CDO instead of CDONTS, especially if you're likely to be migrating your site to 2003 server at any point in the future. E.g.
Set objNewMail = CreateObject("CDO.Message")
set iConf = CreateObject("CDO.Configuration")
Set Flds = iConf.Fields
With Flds...
Ah ha, I've finally dug up something along the lines of what I'm after. I think I need to somehow leverage the "Microsoft.DiskQuota.1" object into a publicly accessible script e.g.
Set colDiskQuotas = CreateObject("Microsoft.DiskQuota.1")
- I've seen code examples using this object, but...
Hi, thanks for the idea, but this just tells me how much space has been *taken*, not how much is left. If you don't know your allocation, or if it could be changed in the future and you want code to adapt automatically, I want to be able to find out how much space is available (i.e. total...
Does anyone have a clue on how to leverage the available space available on an IIS6 account into an ASP script? Obviously the FreeSpace() function in the Scripting Host FileSystemObject doesn't work because that is for drives only, and a typical user won't have the appropriate permissions...
Just downloaded an update to InCD (v4.1.0.0) and now it appears to be working, though whether it was just the update or the combination of the update with the installation of the ASPI driver I don't know, but thanks for the tips anyway folks.
kippy13 - thanks, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling a variety of different software including DirectCD and InCD, but no good, the same problem occurs which makes me suspect a system problem.
