Sounds to me like the message might be coming from the client. And it sounds to me like the client might be thinking it is trying to open a sponsor connection instead of an AD connection. But that needs to be confirmed by the user.

If you just want to test connectivity, HIS comes with tools to do this. You don't say whether the session you want to establish is LU2 or LU 6.2. There are a couple of recent threads on this forum on that subject.
