I use BLAT within a batch file to send emails out from databases. Run it from the OPEN command but with "clever" use of batch files I can put vairables from Approach (exported out) into the content of my files - even create html format by using lots of text files and combining! - Big advantage...
Not sure if it will lead you down any sort of a route but I use BLAT extesively for sending custiomisable emails from Apporach (via batch file run from Approach).
If you can get email to sms then it might sort out your problem....
Following suggestions by Sam Lewis on xpertss.com I have added in the Date field to one of the series plotted and then hidden the series.
i.e. X Axis is Date, Y Axis is Price and Date (Date not plotted)

Can you not define the "end date" field (under create, field definition) to be (under Options, Default Value) Modification date.
Either that or write a macro (Set Date) which sets field "End Date" to today() and put a "on data change" macro on the field that you want populating.

I am using Approach 9.5 and wish to use a proper x/y chart for displaying price trends. The problem that I am getting is that I can not get Approach to display a proper XY chart.
I know that I can export the data to Excel and get a proper XY chartbut I would like to keep it all in Approach...
You can also set up "Custom Menus" (Under Crteate, Custom Menus) and then allocate the menu to the view.
If you do not have the function available on the Menu then the button becomes inactive (i.e. New Record)

OK I have sorted it out nowI was trying to get foxpro to call a batch file to send an email using a batch file which called blat.exe (because I did not understand foxpro!)
I now have foxpro generating the email and sending it with Blat.exe

I have a need to generate a line number in a repaeting panel.
The line number must be calculated for each of the "master" records.
I can calculate the number of items in the panel (SCount function) but cannot get in effect a running total.

I have had a similar problem with Approach 3.02 running in win9.X environments.
I found from somewhere a tip which appears to work with no side effects. :
