    Taking all fields into consideration, there are about 20 in the actual table, I can sort it so the first one in a group is the valid record.

    No it will not, the any other object linking to that field will not be able to find it and generate errors. Unless someone knows a way to have access relink these. However until someone post this, I would not reccomend it unless you wish to manually recreate the links.
