    Error when starting soffice for 1st time

    I use Openoffice 1.0.1 (and before it also 1.0) on Redhat 7.3 and 8.0, with locale en_ZA, and had a similar error, with the Openoffice logo displayed for some 15 seconds before it exits. I resolved this by adding export locale=en_US in the beginning of the soffice script, and now it works...
