We notice occasionally that MS Access applications that reside on a network drive are slow to open and perform on the desktops.

Here's the solution: Install the appropriate Jet 4.0 Service Pack 6 (note that in some cases Jet 4.0 Service Pack 3 must be installed first).

This fixed my Find and Replace problem. It was not MDAC as I originally suspected.
Environment: Ms Access 2000 user interface mdb running on Win98 connected to MSDE database via ODBC (System DSNs). The user interface mdb is linked to the tables. The mdb file is on a server. The user clicks the mdb file name in a folder on the server to open the mdb on the client pc.
