I'm using a UNIX server (SCO) to RSH into a Windows 2000 workstation... I want to run a script that deletes two directories and then go to the next workstation.
This is what I have now, but if for some reason the file is is use or not responding; the 'script' hangs. I'm wondering if anyone...
I've been around since the 80's; and I'm finally stumped.
I've googled my ass off, and still have no clue about this one.
I can't get any outgoing email working EXCEPT for Outlook. I tried using m2 and Thuderbird; and the SMTP fails.
However, if I use Outlook... I have no problems.
Does...
I've just started to use MMC and it seems like a brilliant tool. However, I'm totally unsure on how to "make it work". I did all of my snap-ins, and customized the MSC file, but what do I do with it?
How can I get these policies onto my users workstations and make it effective?
I have NT4...
I've read many threads before, and many registry settings; but none have worked.
I need a way to prevent users to shutdown their PC. I even tried the WinLogon key to change it from 1 (poweroff) to 0. Nothing seems to work.
I simply want the users to reboot their machine, and if they power...
Chagme:
I'm having the EXACT same problem you are. But instead of an IE icon overtop of the icons, I have a calculator!
I've been searching all day for answers, to no avail.
I'm trying to deploy SP3 to my workstations (for Office XP), but it looks like Microsoft changed some of the switches.
The "/q" is suposed to be "quiet", but in reality it's not.
Does anyone know how to deploy this silently with a no reboot? I use psexec in a batch file to do this.
Thanks.
I need to change the security settings within IE so that all users can "Run ActiveX controls and plugins".
Only admins can change this, and it doesn't stick for each user. The only way around this, I've found, is to make the user a local admin and then change the security settings...
Ok BD, I think I found the problem. This was grabbing the time from the authenticating server (which was wrong) and not the time server.
However, in the registry I have it point to the time server...
Yea, same deal... The docs you linked to, was basically what I followed before.
But another thing that's weird, is that if I restart the service on the workstation; the time get's corrected....
Here's a good one guys...
I'm trying to setup the time service on about 200 workstations. I've set up one of our BDC's to be the time server. I've also changed the settings on my workstation to test the functionality.
However, this is what happens. If I change the time to something...
