Hi all
We are currently using the following applications to monitor our network environment:
Alcatel Omnivista
Nagios
HP Open view
MRTG
All, bar the Nagios, use SNMP to gather the data from the switches. Now, my problem is the following. How can I integrate, if possible, all the above...
I need to confirm the following:
A user has a Windows 2000 workstation, and he/she created a folder and gave access only to a local user created by him/her and removed the network users. Asset Management does not collect any data which resides under this folder.
Is this correct ?
Thanks
Adrian
Hi,
We are running the AMO (v3.2) Software Metering on our workstations, and we have configured it as silent. For some reason, on some workstations, the Software Metering window is being displayed, and it cannot be terminated. If we terminate the process (using the task manager) the computer...
Americo,
Thanks again for the information. Currently we have the AMO agents running every day with the login script.
My concern is whether AMO holds all the data, including any changes in the configuration. Also we need to retrive that configuartion as at a partuicular date. This is...
Americo,
Thanks for the reply.
I forgot to metion that we have Asset Management (3.2). We also have Software Delivery (3.1).
Accordingly, can you please advise on how we can take the snapshot using AMO ?
Regards
Adrian
Dear All,
We require to save a snapshot of all the details of a particular computer, including hardware and software at particular time so that we can compare with future results.
Kindly advise.
Thanks and Regards
Adrian
Roofrax,
Thanks a lot for the tips. Infact one of the sectors had the path pointing towards the TNG Server, and no wonder that the second external enine could not find the sector !! In another case the engine was not included in all VLans, and accordingly not even basic communication (i.e...
Dear All,
Thank you for all the tips :) you are suggesting.
I have, up to a certain extent, got rid of the error message on 41 (out of 47) sectors. I still have to check the remaining six sectors. Accordingly I will check the Registry (as Ondra suggested) and then the paths.
My real concern...
Ondra,
Thanks a lot for your help. According to CA the -7 error means that we need to install the Engine using the Admin user name. Although we do not know whether they refer to the TNG server Administrator or else the Network Administrator.
Anyway I will surely keep you informed of the...
Hi,
We have the following setup:
1) Unicenter TNG 2.4
2) SDO v3.1
3) Amo v3.2
We are trying to install a second engine on another computer other than the TNG Server. Accordingly we are trying to setup two engines: one on the TNG Server (AUTOENGINE)which is up and running, and the other on...
Hi,
I am reading for a BSc (Hons) CIS course and for my final year project I am considering E-learning (Corporate Area). Can any one suggest any good resources?

Adrian
I did a search for them and the Inbox.dbx is still there. The messages deleted were removed only from this folder. I do have other folders, but they remained intact.
Any suggestions?
Dear All,
About two days ago one of my installed programs (AvirMail - a program to check emails) halted my computer and for some reason about 6 months of email messages were deleted.
I did try a search for modified files, but with no success. It seems that this program corrupted the messages...
Hi,
may I add to this post, that the problem might be due to licence keys; therefore if anyone knows of a method of making a BO installation through the command line, using a file with the licence key, I will appreciate it.

Adrian
Dear All,
I am trying to install Business Objects Desktop in silent mode (using the -SKIP Option), but for some reason, I cannot understand why on Windows 2000 and Windows 98 (and even WinNT) this option does not work. Any suggestions?
Basically, what I'm trying to do is to run the setup from...
