Has anyone managed to get a Netgear FVS318 to talk to Cisco PIX 515 via a vpn? So far I've managed to get the PIX to return a hash value to the FVS318 but the FVS318 complains saying the returned hash does not match the computed value. Anyone any ideas? Better still some working config examples...

Thanks. From the figures you've provided 40 connections will make the PIX cpu 80% (assuming a linear scale). Not alot left for running the additonal 2Mb/s connection! Has anyone any other figures with different numbers of VPN connections to determine whether the scale is linear or not?

In basic terms NAT is a 1-1 mapping, PAT in 1-many mapping. The way the 1-many is achieved, using one IP address on the external interface, to associate a port on to an IP address & port combination on the inside interface. Simular to IP masquerading in the Linux world. Hope that helps. -Maddog
