how to enable DMA(stuck in PIO mode) in XP
Okay, after much searching, it seems XP (or my drive) has a bug when it comes to recoginzing certain drives as having DMA capability, and sticks it as PIO mode, which really is rotten, because when its in this mode, it is a huge cpu hog, when reading at faster than about 10x, it uses almost 100%...- TASL

Help!, I've figured out why I'm getting buffer underruns on my system, md CD-R is stuck in PIO mode, I'm running Windows XP, with a LG CED-8120B cd-rw drive, I have it selected to use dma if avaialbe, but its stuck in PIO mode, In 98 I can enable DMA no problem on the drive, just no in XP, I...- TASL

CD Burner won't burn at 12x,(full speed)
actually, the 98 system, is a clean system, it has nothing extra running, I only have it for backup purposes, just in case something doesn't work in XP, the only thing I have installed is Nero Burn, I have notcied one thing about this drive: its not using DMA, I'm not sure it even can, In XP all...- TASL

CD Burner won't burn at 12x,(full speed)
Hi, I have a LG 8120b 12x8x32 burner, when I 1st got it, it would burn at 12x no problem, but now, if I try to burn any faster than 8x, I will get buffer underrunns(no underrun protection :(), this has nothing to do with the cd's because it does it even in simulations, on 3 different programs...- TASL
