Thanks, but that isn't what I was asking at all.
I wanted to capture the message that AT gives when you
run a command under AT.
I know how to do "at- l" to get a list. Unfortunately,
as part of "at -l" you don't get the actual name of
the shell that AT will be running...
Thanks Gregor, that looks interesting and I'll certainly try it out.
Another problem I'm trying to solve right now is another
post I made on the same day. I need to be able to trap
the message that the AT command sends to the terminal when
submitting a command to the AT utility queue.
You...
Thanks Robert, again you have a good suggestion and again
I strike out. Must be opening day! :-)
I have no privileges on the machine other
than to kill my own jobs, or possibly to su to another
user and kill their jobs in this quest.
Thanks,
John
That script doesn't work on AIX due to the -d argument.
Also, I should have mentioned that there may be many jobs
in the AT queue, but I only want to kill one of the jobs
I submitted, not all of them, which is what your script
appears to do.
That is also why I want to be able to capture the...
I guess I should have mentioned this is AIX and I don't
see a -d argument for the AT command.

Usage: at -l [-o] [ JobNumber... | -q {a|b|e|f} ]...
Thanks Robert, but once the job is "running", it is no longer available for output from "at -l", right? This may be a runaway job that was submitted to run immediately from the AT command.
John
I would like to capture the job name given by the AT command
for later use to "at -r" the job. It is assumed that this job will be submitted to run at a later time and someone
may need to kill it, but obviously the name of the shell
script doesn't become the actual job name in "at...
I have an interesting problem I hope some of you UNIX
wizards might be able to shed some light on and make some suggestions, or even possibly some "close" code I could
work from to make this work.
I need to be able to kill a process that was submitted to
the AT command, but is now...
I have a problem loading an array from a variable containing
quotes and spaces, but interactively without a variable works fine. Here is the reproducible problem. I want the
array vararray to have the same element values as tarray,
but as you can see, when loading the same data from a
variable...
