I'm an ADSL user from Canada and the sites both loaded in 3-4 seconds for me as well.

Sounds like a DNS problem to me. Had that same problem after installing a router - it couldn't communicate with any DNS servers I entered, and couldn't find one automatically from my ISP either. Wasn't able to solve the problem and went back to using my hub.
Yeah, checked those two and they were clear. I couldn't even ping www.yahoo.com in MS DOS though. I also tried out several different DNS servers on the router. Nothing worked.
Anyways, I gave up :-) Returned the thing and went back to using a hub.
I had my DSL set up through a hub and it worked like a charm. Was able to connect both computers to the internet independently and at the same time without any problems. My DSL modem was connected into the uplink and I had my two computers on the 2nd and 3rd port. Everybody kept on telling me...
I had the same problem with Sympatico HSE. What I did was delete enternet and install RASPPPoE instead. That solved the lag and even increased my speed... However, the problems are now slowly coming back...
I am having the exact same problem... Can share files between the two computers, can log into MSN Messenger, can ping IPs, but couln't go to a web site if my life depended on it. I checked my DNS settings a hundred times and am all out of ideas.
