    Not all the files are orphaned. The MS article refers to an accumlation of the Perflib_perfdata*.dat files. The system will only allow you to delete the files it is currently not using. The system will not allow us to delete certain ones and those happen to be the files that ARCserve can not...

    Perflib_perfdata_xxx.dat errors

    We started to notice this when we applied service pack 4. And it only happens on the Windows 2000 servers. The Windows NT servers don't have this problem. So far filtering has been our only fix so far.
