    thanks for the tip, but i'm still having problems. the device isn't being autodetected, and netconfig isn't finding it (it allways locates some network when i probe, but its some kind of weird bogus card that shows up even when mine is out). oh, and i can't find a program called linuxconf [sadeyes]

    hi all- i'm _very_ new to linux, but i did manage to install slackware onto an old pc i had laying around. now i'd like to add a network card to the box, but i'm not really sure how to proceed. i found the ifconfig command, but didnt see the network card listed when i did a ifconfig -a once...
