    Load sharing / contingency

I know it seems not necessary, but my client has a wired network with about 30 workstations and many problems in an old building, and after this client contracted me I had 5 days to make this network work well. As the cabling is very far from the norms, together with electric cables in many...

    Samba folder access

Bogdan, Just completing what rzs0502 said, the owner of the shared folder and subfolders must be user.group (chown -R user.group /my/shared/folder). The main folder must have permission 750 (rwx for the user, rx for the group and nothing for others). You can do it with chmod 0750...

    Load sharing / contingency

Thanks for your response, rvnguy. The links were very helpfull, specially the 2nd and the 3rd. I'm migrating from a similar solution on Linux and thought it could be done without additional software. My main objective was fault tolerance, but load balance would be good too. With the...

    DBF database with CDX indexes

Hello SBendBuckeye, Altough I asked about ODBC+DBF, I'm not using it. I found a better solution called ADS (Advantage Database Server) that can handle my old DBF files as a Database Server. I does not have as many resources as Oracle for example, but can be easily accessed via Clipper or...

    user/group rights

JDL, Thanks for your response, but I think I made a little confusion with my first message. u01 till u10 are my usernames. The permissions I wrote are what they must have with the '/data' folder. Thanks

How to Purge file on a Volume???

Pipil, Just map your volume roots to local drives. At the DOS prompt it´s something like MAP DRIVE:=SERVERNAME\VOLUMENAME:\ (here I use MAP G:=SI\DATA:\, for example). Still at the DOS prompt go to the mapped drive and type the purge command, like below: C:\>G: <enter> G:\>PURGE /A...

How to Purge file on a Volume???

Hi. At the DOS prompt you can type "PURGE /A" at root. All previously deleted files at subfolders will be permanently removed. You must have delete rights at root to do this. Regards Marcelo

    Netware Partition Recovery

Thanks David. My problem is that even the DOS partition was erased. The HD is empty. I don´t know how it happened. My server motherboard stopped working and when I put a new one the HD partitions were gone... After I sent the first message I found a software called Stellar Phoenix and...

    Netware Partition Recovery

Hi. I had problems with my Netware 5.1 SB Server and the HD partition table was lost... Although I have backups from the most important, there are some test directories I do not. Is there any tool (like Easy Recovery for NTFS partitions) to recover Netware Partitions? Thanks. Marcelo

    DBF database with CDX indexes

Hi. I´m starting with ODBC and would like to know how to access a DBF database with CDX indexes. I tried the WinXP ODBC drivers, but they only let me open DBF with NDX indexes, not NTX or CDX ones. Thanks a lot PS: sorry if the question seems stupid, but I never user ODBC before. :-)
