I just added a second Exchange 2000 box. Users on this new box can send/receive SMTP mail and receive internal mail from recipients on the older exchange box. However, they cannot send mail to recipients on the older Exchange box. Eventually they receive a Delivery Status Notification (Delay).
Configuration: Exchange 2000 mixed mode.
My account was moved to the new Exchnage server.
Steps:
1) From DC, created OU for contacts
2) From OU, create contact and configure. replicate.
3) From Outlook, select contact and send mail.

3) created connection agreements on DC to 5.5 org. (windows to Exchange) (Exchange to Windows)

We have the same problem and we use Trend Scanmail. We use a high-end Dell 128T LTO tape backup system where we get over 1GB/min backing up the Information Store. However, it drops to around 117 MB/min backing up the Mailboxes. I stopped the scanmail services before the backup but it didn't...
We brick thousands of users with no problems. However, on just of few of the mailboxes i receive this error message. The job log reports: WARNING: "i.e.smith, joe" Top of Information Store?inboxDelivery Notification:Delivery has failed" is a corrupt file. This file cannot verify.
