Why does my fixed wireless(sprint broadband) modem take a crossover from it's ethernet port to my NIC? Layer 3(modem) to layer 2(NIC). I thought you only used a cross on devices at the same layer, like router to router. And what cable should I use if I add a router in between?? I would think...
Thank you Scott!! My nic was set to 100 and my modem was at 10. I changed my nic to 10 and problem solved. I guess I was too into the router config and overlooked the obvious.
I just configured and installed an 806 behind my cable modem and my bandwidth dropped from 100+ Kb to around 10. I'm also getting a lot of late collision errors when I surf. My cables and NIC are good, I had a netgear rp114 and had no problems. Any suggestions? (the CCIE at Cisco support...
