Does anyone know exactly how you get the attachment service installed? I don't see anything in the BES management console. From what I have read so far, it sounds like it is suppose to install the attachment service by default, but I don't see it. How can I check and test this software?
My...
This is great information! We are finding the need to do this to all of the PCs on our network. I am not familiar with CFINPUT, can you tell me where we would need to reference this line of code? We are running into an issue of multiple users on a single login (single profile) that access a...
Does anyone know how to disable the autocomplete function by using a policy with ISA Firewall client?
If not this way, we are running an NT 4.0 domain, is there another way (AD not an option) to do this at the server level so as to not allow the users to turn it back on after it is disabled?
I found something interesting, under "site status", if I right click our primary site, and choose "show all messages", I see hundreds of messages that do not show up when I look at the messages individually under "Component Status" and "Site System...
Thanks for all of the helpful information. I have checked this area, and I have full rights to everything. I don't get an error or anything, it just doesn't reset the number of errors. When you choose "show all messages (error, info, warning), there aren't any there, but the overview...
I used to be able to when we first deployed it. However, changes could have been made by someone else. Do you know exactly where to set that? I have looked in the "manage sms users" section, but don't see it.
Has anyone ever seen a problem when you reset the error message counts, they don't reset? In this same area, in the columns that show the numbers of errors on each of the site servers, it is reporting an incorrect number of errors. This has gone on for several months, and I am not able to find...
I have created a query that will show me all of the .pst's scattered all over our network. Does anyone know how I can pull in the EXACT path of the actual .pst files?
There used to be a web site that had tons of pre-built queries. All you had to do is cut and paste into the "Edit SQL Statement" section in your query building process.
I haven't hit this site in awhile, it looks like it has changed hands or something. Below is the link that I used...
I have tried several times to "reset counts, all", and the number of messages does not reset. I have even tried actually deleting the messages, and the count that is displayed in the "Status Message Viewer" still doesn't change.
Have any of the problem PC's had SMS 1.2 on them? We found that to be a real problem. A couple of other things to check that we have seen problems with:
- Is the subnet these PCs are on listed in the SITE BOUNDARIES within SMS?
- More than 40MB free space on the C: drive
- Corrupt install of...
For some reason, I have a handful of CAPs (DCs) that the SMS Executive service is not installed. These machines (servers) all have an "SMS ID" rather than a GUID. This leads me to believe that there may be remanant of SMS 1.2 still running. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I have found that the 20clicln.bat that is on the the SP2 CD in the tools directory will kill just about anything SMS. We have the problem with a lot of PCs with 1.2 and 2.0 on them. This clean seems to wipe everything.
We just recently learned from our Microsoft contractor that Remote Control is VERY dependant on WINS. Unfortunately for us, our WINS is whacked! Hope this offers some clues to the big mystery of SMS!
