The usual test to try is a file copy to the backup server from the backup client. This will determine if it's a tape drive problem or a client or network problem.

Have just read some release notes on 6.0.3, looks like it will fix the cleaning problem on win2000 platforms, and also the problems we see on netware clients, where the library does repeated load/unloads of the tape needed for the restore.
