Modems need to be reinstalled on reboot

SCSYS message from pbx
I have not been able to find an entry for the system message 'SCSYS'. It doesn't seem to be a critical alarm, but our alarm management software recognizes it as a SYS alarm. Can anyone shed some light on what this message actually indicates? Thanks!!- mtw102

Getting Python to Dial a Modem
I am trying to write a script that will dial into a remote host and log into a PBX in order to print out some information. I have all of the script working except for how to get python to access a modem and dial out. Is there a module that I can get that will access a serial port? Please Help!!
