    I didn't check that, but I will. Thanks. I think I may have cured it though. I upgraded from vr.9 to 9.6. I can now open the attachment in question. I've asked the sender to send me other docs. in the same format, hopfully, this will take care of it. I appreciate the help! Scott

    What happens, is the file opens, then the error comes up and I can't do anything but close it. I have tried to copy the attachment to the desktop (and other folders) first then open it, but the same thing happens. It's as if it's being corrupted somehow!
