Marc,
I haven't tried the BIOS update yet. I'm a bit worried about doing this as I've never done a BIOS update before. Is it a straight forward process?
Thanks doodleboppa.
I've gone through the installation process many time before so I know I'm doing that fine. I've no problem installing a Standard Modem on my laptop but when I go to use it, it is not recognised. Also, when I use the Diagnostics tool, it is not detected. Don't forget that...
Thanks to all for your help and suggestions. I still am not getting very far however. The modem is internal and I'm wondering does that qualify under the "plug & play" category that Jasen talks about? I've tried adding an external modem and that was detected straight away and installed...
Arcanist,
I've tried what you suggested already. I have the driver but I don't have the Mini PCI Type 3b Data Fax Modem in my list of modems. I've tried choosing a Standard 56kb V90 modem but when I select the driver from my floppy, it reads the floppy and comes back with a message saying that...
I'm trying to get my Mini PCI Type 3b Data Fax Modem by 3COM on my Gateway Solo 9300 following my upgrade from 98 to 2000 professional. I have the driver for the modem that I downloaded for the Gateway site but the installation is causing me problems.
I don't have a "Unknown Devices"...
Hope someone can help with this one. I upgrade to W2k Pro. recently and my internal modem no longer works. I have a Gateway Solo laptop.
During the upgrade a default modem was installed which I have removed and installed a standard 56k V90 modem which is what I have in the laptop. The...
I've recently upgraded to NT Professional edition from Win 98 and my modem no longer works. There is no response from it when I dial and in the Device Manager is show up as OK.
Any ideas on how to resolve this problems.
Many thanks
Kev.
Can someone please tell me how to get rid of the picture gallery on my desktop (I'm on XP)? I've tried right click but there seems to be no delete option. I've also tried dragging and dropping to the Recycle bin but with no luck. Please help - it's driving me mad!
Thanks
Kevin.
Any ideas on how to open the database window without using the special keys? I'm trying to put security in place so that users cannot open the database window without knowing the exact key combinations to do so.
Thanks
Kevin.
I am trying to prevent the messages appearing on the screen when I appending records to a table. Is there a way of doing this in Access 97. I think that in 95 you could use the Echo off command but I can't find its equivalent in 97.
Many thanks
Kevin.
I've created a query which uses a date as a criteria. Once this query, I then type in the date and the query returns the result. I then want to merge this into a Word document that I've created but as the query has a criteria, it asks me to type in a date again!
Anyone know how to get around...
Hi all,
I have finished developing an Access application and want to avoid it being copied and used without my permission. Is there a way to ensure this doesn't happen? Is there a way to block multiple installations of my application?
Thanks in advance for any help!
Kevin.
Hello All!
I need to find first record with autonumber field. When I fill the findfirst criteria, it becomes a string and I get a data mismatch. Any way to convert the data or to use another command ?
Thanks a lot. Claire.
Hello all!
In the pre '97 version of Access you could use DoMenuItem to open Excel (Office Links, Analyse with Excel) so what happened to this command with Runcommand. OutputtoExcel still exists but does not open Excel. Any ideas how to open Excel from Access with a report open?
Thanks
Claire
