I'm importing into a datastore from a file.
I did find a way to make it work, however.
By building the objects into a .pbd the process works.
I'm not sure why this is so, but it does solve the problem.
The importfile method works perfectly when I run my app in the development environment.
However, it doesn't work from the executeable!
Anyone know why this is happening??
Thanks, in advance, for any help.
I would like to incorporate "tool-tips" functionality when the pointer is moved over a particular column in a datawindow.
Is there a way to do this?
I'm using PB9.0
I appreciate all of your responses, but I found the problem.
I feel kinda foolish.
I was trying to run the scheduled job thru a 'Remote Desktop' session on my PC. When I finally got off my butt and ran it directly on the server, everything worked perfectly.
The only output to the testlog was "o files copied".
Not much help - I already knew that.
Using xcopy didn't change anything.
Thanks for the suggestions anyway.
A little more info:
I'm trying to run this "copy filename*.dat newfile.dat"
It doesn't seem to like the wildcard *. Why not?
I've written a simple batch file which runs perfectly.
However, if I call it from a scheduled task, some of the commands don't work. Specifically, the DOS copy command.
I'd appreciate any suggestions as to why this is happening.
Can anyone tell me what this message means?
"NOTICE: ida0: slot 6: invalid request on dev 1/0 blk 16843264 logical unit=0, block=16843264, size=1, cmd=0xA0, status=0x10"
I'm running Norton Internet Security 2002 with WinXP Home and RoadRunner cable modem.
After running LiveUpdate, it now takes 'forever' to open a web page. If I disable NIS, everything works fine.
I've seen several references to this problem in other threads, but am wondering if anyone has...
Thanks to each of you. I solved the problem based on ralphtrent's initial response.
Needless to say, I'm new to all this, and I really appreciate the help.

At the risk of clearly demonstrating my ignorance, I need you to explain "IIS", and how I would verify that 'anonymous authentication' is not allowed?
Can anyone tell me what would cause Request.ServerVariables("LOGON_USER") to return a null??
This was working fine for us until a collegue made a change in the server's security settings. I suspect a connection, but don't know enough to figure it out.
Thanks
I've been told that there's no such thing as a 'dumb question', so here goes!!
I was given responsibility for maintaining a bunch of PowerBuilder apps for our company. No problem with most of them, but I discovered that the source code for one of them has disappeared. We have the executables...
Thanks for the suggestion. That's what we are considering as we get more involved with windows 2000.
Meantime, we found the problem. It wasn't in the Powerbuilder app. It was simply a matter of setting up the users so that their environment knew where to find the Word template which contained...
I migrated an app to 7.0 which had been created in 6.0
The executable built in 6.0 runs fine, but when re-built in 7.0 the executable won't run. It runs fine in powerbuilder, but not from the executable.
Have I overlooked something??
Ken
We've been running PowerBuilder 7.0 apps on Windows 95 clients, and successfully creating Microsoft Word documents via the 'ExecRemote' and 'SetRemote' functions.
We are in the process of converting our client machines to Windows 2000. The PowerBuilder apps work fine except for the ExecRemote...
I can't offer any advice, but thought I'd join in asking your question. I have a similar problem.
I have a Canon Multipass C755 (printer, scanner, fax, copier). When I'm logged in, everything works fine. When my wife or son logs in, they immediately start getting error messages saying that the...
