Month cal is not coming up right. for Jan, it becomes 00, insted of 12 please help- OraMan

Date cal for yesterday's date format
I am using SUN Solaris 2.6 Trying to calculate 'yesterday' date via shell program. I am using Bourne shell. Please help. By the way any one know any good sun forum like this one. Thanks, in advance!- OraMan
