for the script, we want to limit and and force the users of the LAN to work only through our LAN intranet so we plan to hide most program access from the start menu and desk top and make it visible thru the intranet only

i am trying to install on a siemens server system with an onboard Symbios LSI SCSI adapter i get to the hardware check point and it hangs at F slhainit i got a BTLD of the internet to use but it still hangs at the same point

i have 2000k configured as a vpn accepting incoming connections thru the internet . Downloading files from the ftp server behind it works well both with dial-up through a isp and a wireless link thru a isp but uploading files thru a dailup gives connection closed by remote host but works fine...

i did the cat thing to /dev/lp0 today and i noticed i wasn't getting garble anymore .but actually the first line of the file. I did it a couple of times to identify the pattern and i noticed it was printing the first line of the file then move to the next line and then start printing...
Thanks so much for the info. i have tried those other scripts same problem . i think that port might just be the problem. but here is a copy of the script on it now. i used this for the printer before it malfunctioned.
