The pix is pretty picky about entering new keys. The problems I have had with it were mostly with copy/paste and picking up the trailing spaces. Try typing it in instead of c/p. The individual parts all go in seperatly. Be sure that the serial number of your pix matches what you sent cisco...
The ether will always show up faster...unless you use the bandwidth command. On the fe, type "bandwidth..." something less then 32000. This will not actually change the bandwidth of the port, but the metric that eigrp uses to calculate the route.
Don't worry, your pix won't get it's feelings hurt. Personally, I not only have firewalls in place, but two different vendors NIDS, some software firewalls and HIDS. The Pix is pretty good at not letting things through that other firewalls will let sail right through (see smtp fixup command)...
