rycamor, I am a little hazy regarding shares on the Linux machine. I will readup some more on Samba and see if I can get a handle on sharing.
Thanks again. I might have to get back to you on this.
I am looking for some type of GUI Explorer program that sees Linux(Mandrake)machines on the Microsoft network. My Linux machine can see and manipulate files on my Microsoft network machines automaticly without any kind of configuration. But my Windows machines can only connect to my Linux box...
Hey! Sunshine80
This is just plain old sunshine. I am assuming that what yoy have is an onboard sound chip You should have got a CD for this board, and it should have a directory on it called "Sound". there should be drivers in that folder for Win95/98. There should also be a folder...
I have an on board ISA PnP sound system (CMI8330)which is supposed to be supported. Drakconf detects it.It is capable of being SB16 and WSS configuarable. Neither configuration seems to make it work. These configurations work in Win98SE which is on the same box. Any idea what the problem is...
Thanks Andy. Fdisk /mbr did it for me. After working with windows 9x for the last few years DOS commands are getting harder to remember without going back to the books.
Sunnyone,
How would I remove the "Grub" boot loader without having to reinstall Win98SE? Right now I get errors when I select Linux or safeload. Windows boots ok with no problems.
Thanks, I will try to find a like program in Redhat. Even though I have a full boxed version, the documentation that came with it seems to be lacking a lot of information.

warren,

Thanks for the query but, I have resolved the problem. When I had installed Connection Sharing On the Windows box it had automaticly changed the network address to become the gateway for the other Windows machines and of course the Sun box was left out.
Thanks again.

Need help regarding using telnet to connect to my Sparcstation2 Sun machine running Solaris7 OS. It used to work OK when I had Solaris 2.4. Am running an Intel Pentium III with Windows 98 2nd edition. Have 5 computers on the network all PCs running Windows98 and the lone Sun machine.
Since I upgraded my SPARCstation2 to SUN 7 OS, I have not been able to telnet or ftp to the Sun machine. Get network is unreachable error message with Telnet. Everything worked fine with Solaris 2.4. Ethernet hookup with hub works OK between other PCs.
