You can check in 'Tools' then 'Options' under the 'View' tab to make sure that there is a check mark next to drawings under the "Print and Web Layout options' section.
I've run into the same thing with macros that work on Office 2000 but not Office 97. Had to re-create the macros in 97....I'm not a code guy . . . .YET!
are you opening these attachemtns from the e-mail or are you saving them and then opening them?
either way i would recommend saving at first to further troubleshoot the problem.
if you are saving them try this:

Don't know if you've tried this but here's a thought:
Under the 'View' menu choose 'Page Break Preview'.
Once on this view you will be able to drag the page breaks anywhere you want or delete them.
Any other idea is to tell excel to print the spreadsheet as 7 pages wide by one pgaes tall...
