When I log on to the FW ASDM I open the real-time log viewer for a rule. I can see there are hits because the hit count is increasing. However, nothing is showing up in the log. I have tried enabling Notifications as well as Debugging.
I tried both ping -t www.cisco.com and ping www.cisco.com -t (yes there is a space)
I was able to use the ping repeat command for a long ping. I can only guess that ping -t is disabled somehow on the firewall?
On a Cisco ASA ping works but ping -t does not:
firewall# ping www.cisco.com
Type escape sequence to abort.
Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to <IP>, timeout is 2 seconds:
!!!!!
Success rate is 100 percent (5/5), round-trip min/avg/max = 1/8/10 ms
firewall# ping -t www.cisco.com
firewall# ping...
