    Excel Date Issue with AutoFilter

Thanks Skip - it works perfectly. It was actually someone else's code that I needed to fix. I haven't posted here for a long time - good to see that you are still around! Thanks again - StevePB.

    Excel Date Issue with AutoFilter

Excel 2016 on Windows 10. I have some code which filters the data in a worksheet by date. The date is entered into a user form and populates a date variable. The date format is: dd/mm/yyyy When I activate the autofilter in the code, it reads the date as US format and therefore does not display...

Windows 7 Firewall Domain Group Policy

Thanks for your reply TechyMcSe2k. I had checked the applicable GPO, which was configured correctly. Your response prompted me to check all the GPOs from the top down and I found one that applied only to my OU which was disabling the firewall ! Problem fixed. Thanks, SteveB.

Windows 7 Firewall Domain Group Policy

I can't get the "firewall with advanced security" to work on Windows 7 machines through group policy. The existing policy has settings for the Windows XP firewall which are working OK. I followed the Microsoft TechNet guidance on the additional settings required for Win7...

    Activesync + Certificates

In case anyone has the same problem, this is what worked for me: To perform the following procedure on a Windows Mobile powered device, make sure that you have a connection between the device and a desktop or portable computer. In addition, the desktop or portable computer must be joined to the...

    Activesync + Certificates

I've just got a Win Mobile 6.5 phone, previously had Win Mob 5 phone. The new phone won't sync with my work Exchange server. All settings match those on the old phone. I copied the SSL certificate from the server to the phone and installed it, but it will only install in the "intermediate"...

    YouTube for a single user

Thanks for your help joepc. In that case, I'll investigate creating and applying a custom content filter for the webmaster, as we don't have a licence for the IPS.

    YouTube for a single user

Thanks for your replies Reece and joepc. I'm trying to avoid entering individual sites as there would be too many - hence the use of the domain identifiers and wild cards. We do have the premium content filter service, but I can't see how to block this type of traffic, and allow it for one...

    YouTube for a single user

We have a SonicWall Pro 4060 and are using the SonicWall Content Filtering Service. I need to block access to YouTube and Web TV sites, but have found the CFS only offers "MP3/Streaming" which doesn't appear to work for these sites. The current, far from ideal, solution is to block the ".tv"...

    Remove character at EOL

Thanks again Feherke, you have been a great help. -SB.

    Remove character at EOL

Thanks very much feherke, that works perfectly. I still have to escape the pipe character on input as a parameter, but I guess there's no way around that. Out of interest, in your first suggestion, why does the dollar need to be escaped after the delimiter variable ? -SB.

    Remove character at EOL

I need to use a script (/usr/bin/ksh) to remove certain characters from a data file. The format is plain text. I want to remove the last character on a line only if it is the one specified in a parameter to the script. The specified character often needs to be the pipe character. I find I can...

    Largest disk for motherboard

Update: I tried updating my BIOS with the utility provided by ASUS (which identified the mobo and said it was good to go) and after backing up the BIOS, erasing and (supposedly) re-writing the EEPROM it failed on verification. I chose the option to re-try and the same thing happened. I then...

    Largest disk for motherboard

Thanks Paparazi and Freestone for your responses. If you look at the link that Wahnula/Tony provided it shows that the mobo is capable, but needs BIOS/driver updates. I will try these as soon as I get a chance, as I intend to get a 160GB drive for my PC. - SB.

    Largest disk for motherboard

Tony, Thank you so much for your prompt and spot on response. That looks like just what I need. I will post back when I have made some progress. - SB.

    Largest disk for motherboard

I have an Asus A7A266-E Socket A motherboard, running an AMD Athlon XP1800+ processor. I have come across suggestions in support forums that there is a limit to the IDE (PATA) disk size this will support (could be 120 GB max). I can't find anything in the manual or on the Asus web site about...

    Viewpoint Souce User

    Viewpoint Souce User

Hi Roger, In reciprocation, it is an honour to receive a reply (so quickly) from someone that is certified - particularly when it is in the subject of interest :-) We don't have AD (we're currently on Novel 5.1), and I need to track the web access by IP address as the users are not necessarily...

    Viewpoint Souce User

I am trying to use Viewpoint to check which web sites are being accessed at what times of day. I have created a custom report, based on the Web Activity template, but the Source User/Hostname column always says "N/A". I am able to see web usage by IP address in the standard summary reports (but...
