    Transmit data by dial-up modem via telephone-line

    I want to transmit data from PC to micro-controller,but the data-rate must be 9600bps. So, can I use a 'External USB 56k Modem' For this purpose? PS: I know the '56k Modem' used V.92, but is '56k Modem' support V.32/V32 bis (9600bps)? Thanks
