This is an example of one of the online apps.
https://www.homezada.com/
This is a subscription product.
I do not like the concept of placing this type of information online either.
I thought a google search would find a similar product developed in Access or Excel…. But no luck.
Anyone aware of applications developed with MS Access and designed to assist home owners with building maintenance for one only singe family home.
There are many high-end applications designed for business, however these are to elaborate for a single home.
Thanks KMD
Can anyone provide any feedback on how well CR performs as a report writer against Microsoft Active Directory (AD) ?
For example, does CR have specific features to allow direct linking to AD ? Are there other features that are designed to interact with AD data ?
Thanks, KMD
I just posted this question in the Access Forum as the data is within a MS Access database. It may be possible to get Access to perform this query however my thinking is that Crystal would be more suited for the job. Would designing this query in Crystal be less complex a task due the...
The 'Parts' Table contains a Date Field called [PURDATE] which contains the date the part was purchased.
I need a query to display parts purchased as a function of year and month of the purchase :
YEAR_MONTH COUNT OF RECORDS
2018-JAN 596

Ok I see what you mean.
I was thinking if this technique could be used to list those records where the match is determined by the Like operator and not by an exact match (equal).
Stock Vendor
A123 vs 123 ( Like ) - Select
F234 vs F234 ( Equal) - slip
Perhaps some type...
LB,
Thanks for this technique. It took me a couple of tries but in the end I got it to work.
For future reference, would this change to the formula work as well or are things more complex than that >> NOT ({vendor.partnumber} like “*”+{?pm-stock.partnumber}+”*”)

CR XI and both fields are text.
The tables (MS Access) are completely separate and linked only within the Database Expert of CRXI.
{stock.part_num} is linked to {vendor.part_num}
LEFT table is tbl.stock (So I have rearranged the position of the fields in the formula below so things look...
Some part numbers provided by different vendors are similar but may have a vendor specific prefix or suffix added for their unique purposes.
I want to compare vendor specific part numbers against generic named stock numbers currently held in stock...looking for matched items.
Would the...
Thanks for both of these options.
As far as testing instr on the Memo field I cannot do so as the Memo field in not being listed in the formula builder and therefore not selectable for use in a formula. In MS Access I tried to change the data type from long text to short text but it stated that...
Tested this these formula and they are working well.
Thank you.
There is another field in the database thst has similar data however it is a MS Access Memo field. Is there any possibility of using Instr function on a Memo fields ?
CRXI using MSAccess
Each Part record contains a text field {COMMENTS} which is used to store notes and comments about the Part.
I am looking for a specific text sequence anywhere within {COMMENTS} as follows:

Is it mandatory that your report does not have any Groups in use?
With one only Detail section in play it seems that the export to Excel will go
cleanly.
Any tips on exporting when using Groups to group data and then performing an export to Excel?
Thank you again.
I only have experience running 'built-in' Crystal Reports queries.
So I am in the process of reading thru this.... http://www.hexcentral.com/articles/crystal-sql.htm ... and perhaps a few others before I start adding the SQL above to the report.
CR XI
I have a database that contains two tables and each table contains two only text fields.
tbl_Vendor contains the fileds {tbl_V.Serial} and {tbl_V.Part}
tbl_Inventory contains the fields {tbl_I.Serial} and {tbl_I.Part}
The serial and part numbers within these tables should be an...
This article helps illustrate just how challenging Project can be at the upper limits so to speak. A very good article actually.
