I figured it out. After running from another computer where it worked, I went back to my PC and tried to right click and run the client as administrator. Voilà it works. Just have to deal with the annoying UAC window.
I have the same problem. Voicemail pro 9 is running on a Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard and I am on Windows Pro 8.1. I am running it as Administrator. I can run it fine from the server and it does not even ask for a user name or password.
