Excel: Importing European account information (German bank spreadsheets are the worst.).

fredericobonseca: I agree, but this information was downloaded directly as a .csv file. Andrezejek: Absolutely. Much of the information has been changed. At any rate I take off for Berlin again tomorrow, where it will be easier to harrass tech. I have found, unfortunately, that the system I...

Excel: Importing European account information (German bank spreadsheets are the worst.).

Two of the most obvious issues: 1) Most of the amounts are missing. 2) The transaction type, etc, which should be two columns, is duplicated. So, Normal doesn't seem to be an option here. A further notes. Since the data inserts IBan's and customer number on some without compensating for extra...

Excel: Importing European account information (German bank spreadsheets are the worst.).

Same file as txt. Note a couple of oddities. First, while the debits are introduced with ", the single deposit has none. This is true of all deposits, which offsets those initial cells. Take this line. "01/21/2019;01/21/2019;""SEPA-Direct Debit"";Telefonica Germany G;OTHR Sonst. Transakt Kunde...

Excel: Importing European account information (German bank spreadsheets are the worst.).

That is not quite the interface I see (I have it set to English right now, but otherwise that doesn't seem to matter) but just for fun, here is jpg of the file as it imports from .csv format. The interface is set to ansii. The not on download says the file is comma delimited, but looking at the...

Excel: Importing European account information (German bank spreadsheets are the worst.).

MakeITSo: You are absolutely correct except that these are not US files, and experimentation has shown that they do not import as UTF. One of the issues, at least for me, was that the delimiters imported as non printing characters, making conversion to numerical format impossible. sxchech: It...

Excel: Importing European account information (German bank spreadsheets are the worst.).

I've just spent a week figuring out how to best import German and Spanish bank statements into Excel in America. Some European statements import well, others less so. (In this case Deutsche Bank and Banco Sabadell). As I've noticed in researching the problem that is not uncommon, I decided to...

MS Office 365. imported columns will not resolve as nrs

Or was this a resolution statement of sorts? Pretty much. The second column would not add and did not show as numeric on COUNT. I can't figure it out, since the bank said it resolved for them. I have checked all my settings and find nothing amiss. Still, I think I have it after cleaning out non...

MS Office 365. imported columns will not resolve as nrs

The sample can now be manipulated Removed initial spaces manually by copying to text. No trailing spaces were visible. Excel would not allow trim. Removed non breaking spaces. Trim Clean This is a service provided by a Bank to its customers. There must be a simpler way.

MS Office 365. imported columns will not resolve as nrs

If I may, would you have any idea what is wrong with this function? =TRIM(SUBSTITUTE(C4,CHAR(160),CHAR(32))) Excel is rejecting all functions for the amount column.

MS Office 365. imported columns will not resolve as nrs

Sorry..only the last entry is incorret..it was a trial sum. If that does not function, here Date Description Amount Running Bal. 02/09/2018 "Wire Transfer Fee" "-15.00" "15392.25" 04/24/2018 "CHASE MANHATTAN CREDIT CARDS Bill Payment" "-395.32" "14489.37" 05/21/2018 "Chase Manhattan Credit...

MS Office 365. imported columns will not resolve as nrs

Does not parse correctly. I don't know if this will upload. It is on the desktop, and my webspace is down. The file was uploaded as a tab delimited .dat file and renamed txt. While the wildly inaccurate account totals (I wish) are numeric and can be manipulated, the amount totals, which appear...

MS Office 365. imported columns will not resolve as nrs

Here´s a start. Imported as tab delimited. Have not done anything wit the text qualifiers yet (the quotation marks) I am simply going to delete them for the next step, as they don´t seem to function as they should. The columns parse correctly, though...

Another note: The most recent import was in US OEM format, which seems to be an improvement.

MS Office 365. imported columns will not resolve as nrs

Hi Skip. Nice to hear from you again. Thanks for responding. I apologize. I was up until 3:00 dealing with this and am a bit punchy. So to your questions. I’m not entirely sure exactly what you’re talking about. So I have some questions. “Opening CSV format spreadsheets imported directly from...

MS Office 365. imported columns will not resolve as nrs

In every downloaded account spread sheet imported in utf8 (other formats also attempted) I am unable to get any numbers to calculate. Formulas return zero. Attempted so far Using regular interfaces to change format to numerical. Special paste as values. Special paste multiplying all column by 1...

Updates compromise windows common shell DLL. Cannot hinder updates.

One of a large number of recently installed updates is corrupting my system. Late last night Skype stopped working and I could not connect a new Outlook account due to a failing windows common shell DLL. An events check revealed an update barrage shortly prior to the incident. Restoring to a...

Concatenate? Add? Joining cells in Excel so as to replace cells that don't line up.

I have an account download with unaligned cells. Row numbers 72-75 will have a single date cell, but the transaction description in the next column is divided into two or three rows, the date may be one full height column or two or three. You can see it in the attachment better than I can...
