Better way to simulate a count

BillyRay: That did reduce the processor, it's still clunky. I think i'm just gonna bail on the idea. Thanks for the suggestion. Ray & Adam... Yeah, I tried an animated gif first, but it needs to be transparent which blows the whole deal. Thanks for the ideas.

Better way to simulate a count

Hi there, Can anyone think of a more clever way to create the extremely simple simulation of spinning numbers? http://viewwerx.com/test.html It doesn't need to really count, just a string of several numbers, each randomly spinning from 1-9, like a quick spin on a slot machine or something...

Not sure why this won't update in IE.

Thanks again guys! I did move it back outside the function and moved the onreadystatechange. That's kind of funky.

You know man, I love that fact that people take the time to help others out. Your fix worked perfectly and I greatly appreciate the time and effort that you put in to provide me with the advice. I actually thought about that answer the other night that the getHTTPObject was only getting called...

Thanks for replying. I did check the cache and even set it to check for a new version every time.

It seems that my XMLhttprequest stuff is working fine. I browsed that link and it looks like i'm doing it correctly. This is just something IE specific. Thanks for the reply.

Not sure why this won't update in IE.

Hi there, I have a quick question. This script is fairly simple. It works great in firefox, doesn't seem to work in IE. My document.getElementById('theTime').value gets set in firefox, but not in IE. The php script returns a simple time string with the current server time, like March 10, 2005...

    Skinnable project

Can anyone give me pointers, tips or instructions on how to make a skinnable VB application. Doesn;t need to be made skinnable by the user, I just want my app to have a tailored/unique interface. (by skinnable, my definition is design a graphical interface using bitmaps, etc.)
