    Thanks for clarifying the blue/black and blue/yellow. I was lazy in my typing. In your example is Pin 4 Ring and Pin 5 Tip? I thought is was the opposite.

    Thanks for all the helpful posts. The alarm company was sharing with a line going into the phone system but, as someone suspected, they reversed the wires. Ended up taking the alarm off the phone system and putting on the fax machine line.
