Hi JHall, Thanks a bunch! That worked! I thought there might be adverse effects to deleting the registration and adding it back. It just sounded like I'd be deleting everything. Is this something that can re-occur? I guess I'm just curious if this is a sign of something else happening...- kenmtbike

missing named.conf and other files
Thanks for the reply. I have been using find / -name named.conf to search for the file (also named.*, named*, named*.*). I ran dbupdate as you suggested then looked for named.conf again (using locate named.conf). It only found the man files. # locate named.conf...- kenmtbike

missing named.conf and other files
I just installed bind.8.2.2_P5-25 on RH 7.0 2.2.16-22 using GnoRPM. After installation all of the program files (binaries) appeared to be installed OK. All of the configuration files are missing (named.conf, named.local, ...). I then used RH's up2date utility to upgrade bind to bind.8.2.3 and...- kenmtbike
