    Can Mod_rewrite rules be in file other than httpd.conf

    Thanks for the reply - yes I mean the rewrite directives and yes I had already looked in the mod_rewrite documentation but couldn't find anything on the subject one way or the other so I was just wondering if anyone else had been asked to move the rewrite directives out of the httpd.conf file.

    Can Mod_rewrite rules be in file other than httpd.conf

    Someone was asking me this at work and I can't find any evidence it can. The concern was somehow by using rewrite rules you are allowing "access" to the httpd.conf file and it might get corrupted by some client purposely or inadvertently. Is that even possible?
