Hi Olaf, The I recompiled the COM objects with "Generate Component ID's" in VFP 9 then in Install Sheild used the "Self Registration" and it works. COM objects registered correctly in Windows 7 without any manual registration. Thank You, Gary

Creating a batch file and right clicking and run as aministrator worked but I have to distribute my application and I need to have COM objects registered during installation (Programatically) not from a batch file. Got any ideas? Thanks, Gary

Here is a DLL that allows you to read and write to USB ports from any MS language. http://www.kadtronix.com/usbhidapi_usr.htm They have a sample application and code but the sample is not in VFP :( but the DLL it really works.
