I haven't done this for a long time but I just remembered something <g>. Just test your options in your own environment and see what it will do for you together with your application. I use the OM commands because I don't remember or have no clue where to find them in SysManager ......
Good luck...
Hi jetpowered,
We still don't know where you are but if you are in the Netherlands I have a great reference for you.
Check the contact box in the website:

Make sure you were referred by Sophoman, now located in Puerto Rico. Probably he can help you out.

Hi shaw72,
Sorry to hear you have to learn this the hard way. I was more lucky when I started 10 years ago with some experienced people around me and smooth working systems to work with. I learned hands-on and followed some training 5 years later.
Try to get a good training if your boss is...
Hi Shaw72,
I just remember you enherited the iS3030 system. Some questions about the system.
Do you use the iS3030 also for regular voice communication ?
Is it a single unit or part of a multi-unit network ?
What are your software version and licenses ?

Hi Shaw72,
Like 22031979 suggested, check your routes for the "transit allowed" option. If you have have SysManager available it might be a little easier.
In transparant OM you can check your routes for in en outgoing options with dirout:
Check the amount of options bits available with your...
Hi 22031979,
Probably you will need SMPC to make your telnet session work. Unfortunately I can not test anything for you anymore because I left NL some time ago. I do not have access to a iS3000 system or software anymore.
My excuses if I can't help you with the latest software relases and...

You can make OM-sessions with PcAnywhere, ProComm and with Hyperterminal when you make a direct connection with your COM-port set at 9600 with 1 stopbit and no parity, use <CTRL>+<G> to get in. I have to admit that the OM module works a little smoother, especially when you...
Shaw72,
You should have a CDROM with Sysman with OM and/or TABS with the iS3030 you inherited. If it cannot be found, you need to go back to the company who installed your system.
Allthough it should be possible to do OM-sessions with any communications software program by accessing the serial...
I used to manage some is3000 networks in the Netherlands.
Probably you don't see them much in the US but if you have some Q's just shoot. The is3000 series come as the 3010, 3030, 3070 and 3090 depending in how stations you need.
You should try to get your hands on the Sopho Service Manuals CD...
IllegalOperation,
Thank you for your time to respond. I also like the cost effective approach very much for being a Dutchie <g>. I believe in making a design that suits the company. I don't know much people who do groceries in a Rolls Royce.
Let me tell something about the hotel :

Thank you Jimmyzz & Webnetwiz for your responses to help me out on this "router on a stick" model.
The reason I wanted to help out the owner was that there were some people around him that said it is "easy". After recently studying and passing CCNA I suggested to make a more...

I want to create a free internet service for a very small hotel by sharing a DSL-line over ethernet and an nice new-made CAT5e distribution system in the hotel. Feel free to shoot at it with tips & advice. I need specific help to choose the right equipment for the job, Cisco...
