ANSWERS, thanks to Fluke Networks support:
1. SH should be selected only if shielded cable is being tested.
2. The CableIQ does not allow you to create or save custom lists. You can change cable IDs in the CableIQ Reporter software.
3. You can sort your results by Cable ID, Date/Time...
For those of you that own a Fluke CableIQ and are intimate with it, I have a couple of questions:
1. What does the "SH" setting test for in the Autotests, and what should it be set to?
2. Can I save my own definitions for lists, ie site, locations, etc. for saving results? Can I make my own...
Hi, newly setup server closet, it's vented with a bathroom type continuous rated ceiling vent in the tiles. Where the wiring comes through the ceiling tiles there's some openings. To get air to pull from vents in bottom of server close door better, what do you suggest to seal between the cabling...
allworxguy, can you give me some examples... I'm just guessing from you response, that data in the closet would be DC00001 and data drop would be DD0001? is that what you're saying.
Also on the patch cords in data racks... are you labeling with numbers that you look up in a chart, or the actual...
Hi, I'm looking for input on what others find is the best labeling conventions for network wiring closets.
Does something like D001 and up (Do for Data), and T001 and up (T for telecom) work, or do you try to incorporate location and usage in the label? Do you match these naming convention on...
Hi, I'm looking for anyone who's tested and used various brand and models of cable labelers to know which is the best overall labeler for labeling IT/telco/CableTV cables and patch panels/jacks. I know there's the Rhinos, Brady, Brother P-Touch and others... which is affordable, versitle, good...
We've programmed in the line distintive ring and it works fine on the 18D's - the 3920 just rings the same tone for all lines. I don't think thye 3920 has the capability to do distinctive line rings. - Lewis
So one can change the ring … but can you do so on a per line basis? So all other iine ring one tone, but a single line rings differently so you know when it's ringing?
Wow, none of the documentation I've seen even mention the 3920 has a menu. Thank you!
Hi, all the Partner 18D phones work fine with line distinctive ring settings, the wireless 3920 only rings one tone for all calls. Site has one line that they want to ring differently than all the other lines, and we can do this, Partner ACS Rel 8 for the desktop phones. Is there anyway to...
Hi all, working on an existing office with a Partner Rel 7 ACS and Partner Messaging and now have added a new home office also with a new Partner Rel 8 ACS and was wondering what is involved in moving the PM card over to a new ACS? Will the programming follow? Is it likely the programming is...
Hi, I'm wiring a split 66 block for a small Partner ACS system - 4 lines, 5-6 stations in a home office setup.
I know I could simply put connectors on the cabling and connect lines and stations directly to the ACS. It would work and be less work than putting in a 66 block.
I was thinking of...
Hi all, normally I do network wiring, but am putting in a Partner ACS and have some really 101 basic questions if someone could be so kind and patient to answer them.
1). Are the in-line fuses that go on cross connects on a 66 block a good idea to install as a normal install item?
2). Can I...
