in order to clarify things you can edit unions in the detail band right?question is how can i edit the ones outside the detail band like headers of groups etc?

ah i understand mbalent but i have another question so does that mean when you use union with groupings it can only be used to display reports effectively? Is there no way to edit the columns of the union with groupings?

the topic speaks for itself i have one datawindow with about 3unions and i grouped the unions, so the problem is since it's not in the header band anymore there's no tab order for editing. Is there a way i can edit the datawindow with union and groupings? im trying to use rowcopy but still...

it didn't work when i tried it my problem is i have 1main datasource and 2unions, what if i had to update more then 1table? you did meant that i go to rows > update properties... right? I put a tab order and done what you said but when i click them at runtime i can't edit them at all please help...

guys im trying to make a DDDW customer search wherein if i type text in the DDDW when i press enter all the first names matching let's say the word 'L' will show up. And after i select let's say Luigi the other DDDW will fill up as automatically after i select Lugigi his last name, middle name...

never mind guys i solved the problem by adding datetime before nulldate, so datetime(nulldate) and i forgot to mention that nulldate was declared as setnull sorry for the mix up thanks for everything guys
