Btrieve was offered with unlimited distribution rights.
The cost was $1000.00 for DOS and $1000.00 for Windows.
The agreement allowed Btrieve usage on unlimited machines.
BTI renamed itself to Pervasive and dropped unlimited licenses.
No offer was given to dissolve the contract or...

I wrote a TCP send/receive program that runs
on all machines. The server just passes the
requests to Btrieve 6.15.451 on the server so
each machine doesn't need Btrieve.
There is no need to pay per seat when you can
have your own TCP...
Purchased unlimited DOS and Windows versions just before Pervasive took over. They then wanted to charge per seat.
Anyway, got an email about the patch and requested it.
They ignored request for about a month and then finally
said since I didn't purchase from them they wouldn't give it out...
