We're attempting to enable the backup ip feature for all 500 of our DT700 phones. This is buried in the network settings of the phone. The way I see it, there are three ways to do this:
1) Manually set it on every phone. No thanks!
2) Set up the dhcp scopes of every phone to push out an ftp...
thread937-1695965
13 months after starting the original thread above, we finally have an answer! This one was a difficult one to troubleshoot because sometimes we'd go weeks without seeing this issue, but other times we'd see it three weeks in a row.
It all boils down to the login button...
Thanks for the response. Are you saying that 80, 81, 82, and 84 are all usually set to 30-60 sec? Or just that 82 is usually set to 30-60 sec?
FYI here is our setup: we have a number of 8300's that connect back to a central 8300 via our WAN. During normal operation, all external outbound...
I was wondering what everyone else uses for failover timers. Meaning, how long it takes the PBX to enter survival mode during a network outage. Ours are set way too high, it takes 12 minutes for the phones to enter survival mode if our WAN goes down. During this 12 minutes the phones are...
FYI we never did figure out what was causing this. NEC developed some custom software specifically for us that was going to help them troubleshoot this further. After loading the PBX's with this new software, we were instructed to notify them as soon as this problem happened again. They would...
Yes it does. Sometimes it actually starts at our main site, tenant 1. I'm waiting for it to happen again so I can send some wireshark captures over to NEC. They think it has something to do with bad memory somewhere in the system.
No NATing, no firewalls in between, everything is on my internal LAN with all tcp\udp ports opened up. Yes we are pointing to the cpu ip address.
We have about 12 different sites all with their own 8300's, and all sites connect back to our data center via 100 meg WAN links (hub and spoke...
We recently upgraded about a dozen NEC 2000's to SV8300's. About once every couple weeks, a random ip extension will lose the ability to make outbound calls. It has happened about five or six times now, each time to a different extension. When the problem occurs you can pick up the handset...
Thanks for the responses, I will look into buying that cable.
And yes, I am using an analog line. It's odd, when trying to back up some systems it times out after only a couple seconds. However, I still maintain my connection to the PBX as I can still access moc mode.
Thanks.
We recently got rid of support on our NEC 2000 IVS's, until now I never had to worry about backing these systems up since it was done for us by Verizon.
None of these systems are ip enabled, I access them all via a dialup modem and matworx.
However, using the save/load/verify feature continues...
