    you know i foolishy ran an erase plus on a few tapes and not surpisingly the serial # is gone now. i have a barcode reader in my tape autoloader Im wondering is there a way I can get the serial #s to show up up again in case I need to do a restore?

    Well it turned out that the exchange problem was resolved by enabling circular logging from within exchange. This got rid of the logs and I was able to back up exchange no problem.
